Pin Oak Track Team

I am happy to have an updated Track Meet schedule to share with you. We will be participating in the Westbury meet on February 18th.

Our Zone 2 meet will run as follows:
Tuesday, March 20 - 7th Grade Boys, Field Events
Wednesday, March 21- 7th Grade Boys, Running Events
Thursday, March 22 - 8th Grade Boys, Field Events
Friday, March 23 - 8th Grade Boys, Running Events

We are awaiting confirmation on the date of the Rice Middle School Meet.

Please submit $20 dues for your son's meet entry fees and supplies when possible. (I will be renting a tiller from Home Depot and purchasing sand for the long jump pit as soon as we have dues available.)

The boys were issued Track sweat pants and hoodies last Friday. They may not wear them to school as part of the Pin Oak uniform. I will be sending a hoodie order form home this week for spirit hoodies.

Ms. Parker (Matthew's mom) and Ms. Lee (Eric's mom) will be contacting everyone regarding meet refreshments. Our afternoon practices are from 3:30 -5:00 Monday - Thursday, rain or shine. Please send your son with a water bottle for practices.

If you notice that I have left anyone out, please email me directly without forwarding this entire email. I know that there are a few boys on the basketball team that will be joining us. I am still collecting parent email information.

This page is a means to communicate between school and home about upcoming meets, practice schedules, and accomplishments of the Pin Oak Track and Field team.

The coaches for this year's squad are:

Important Information:

1. You MUST have a physical completed and all paper work turned in before you can participate. See Coach Baltazar for all paperwork to be turned in or dropped off. All paperwork should be completed already.

2. We will practice from 6:45-7:45 a.m., Monday through Thursday.

3. You need to come to school dressed for practice. You do not have to wear your P.E. uniform for practice. The weather can be unpredictable, so prepare for different temperatures.

4. Make sure you run in running shoes and appropriate work out.

5. Bring water to practice. Write your name on the bottle.

6. You MUST have a PASSING GRADE (70% or higher), and have an E or S in CONDUCT in ALL CLASSES in order to participate.

7. You can shower in the locker room after practice and have free breakfast in the classroom. (Remember to bring school clothes, deodorant, toiletries & towel for showering.)

*Events listed are offered at HISD meets. Some other meets have different events like medley relays, 300M hurdles, discus, even pole vault.
