Mathematics

Pin Oak offers grade level and PreAP/GT math courses. In addition, eighth grade students may take Algera I for high school credit. The department also offers each year, the opportunity to compete in the MathCounts competition.

Algebra

Students who wish to take Algebra in their 8th grade year must take a qualifying exam at the end of their seventh grade year. The Algebra course will provide the student with one high school credit. The course also requires that students enrolled in the course take a midterm and final exam.
